Dos Ojos Cave System, Quintana Roo, Mexico
This system is found on the Jacinto Pat Communal Land, near the little town of Akumal, only 15 kilometers (9.3 mi) from Tulum. 
Lol-Tun, Yucatan, Mexico
Meaning "Stone Flower" in Mayan, these grottoes are part of a cave system found in the Yucatan Peninsula at Km 5 near Oxkutzcab and only 110 kilometers (68 mi) from Merida. Lol-Tun is approximately 10 kilometers (6 mi) long, even though only 2 kilometers (1.2 mi) of this distance have been investigated and equipped so that it can be easily explored when accompanied by a qualified guide. Lol-Tun is not one of the largest or deepest caves in the region, however, it is one of the most well known.
Balankanché, Yucatan, Mexico
This cave is only 6 kilometers (3.7 mi) from Chichén Itzá in the Yucatán. It was discovered by an amateur cave explorer in 1959. It is completely open to the public with easy access for any tourist who wishes to visit it. 
Actún Tunichil Muknal, Cayo, Belize
Found in the heart of a nature reserve designated to protect the mountain tapir, this cave is only a 45-minute drive from the city of San Ignacio in the district of Cayo, Belize. Its name means "Cave of the Sepulcher Stone" and it is one of the most impressive Mayan caves in the Belize region and thought of as a sanctuary of priceless secrets of the Mayan civilization. “We are living in the Golden Age of underground cave exploration.”

 "Fantastic" We visited on March 16th, 2010 from a Royal Caribbean Excursion. FANTASTIC!. Our group of 5 consisted of 2 kids, 8&10, all the way to Grandma "Nene" (71). Mariana was our guide. I cannot recommend her highly enough. She is half the experience, really. Her gentle pace, messages and illustrations using cave water, rocks, shrimp, fish, bats & a crab all made lasting impressions. At first I was skeptical of not being able to bring a camera or flashlight, but I was so glad I did not. The helmut & light all played into the experience of shutting down, turning on and watching. Plus when I bring a camera guess who is never in the picture! Their photo DVD with Mariana's excellent added shots is well worth the price. Do this and save the beach for later. Great job guys!
